Planning your event

What should you plan for?

Danish at Nordic meetings and AGMs

It has been an EU official language since 1973. The Nordic Council’s official-language list is “Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian and Swedish.” Denmark’s government describes Danish as the language of Denmark.

Novo Nordisk’s 2026 AGM page says its meeting is held in English with simultaneous interpretation into Danish. Shareholders may speak and submit questions in that language, so the audience translation and the language of contributions are separate requirements.

Dansk translation with buttons in English

Dansk is the Danish language button. Once selected, the attendee can hear their chosen translation or read it, but the navigation stays in English. The invitation should name the button and make the language of those controls clear.

Danish questions after English presentations

Baian can also translate speakers using this language. For an English and Danish programme, enable Multiple spoken languages before starting. A question in either language can follow a presentation while listeners keep their chosen translation.
