What scholars have said about Baian
“Truthfully, and not just to be polite, it is amazing. It gives you the translation in more than one language, and its accuracy is amazing.”Help your congregation follow the meaning.
Baian translates the khutbah as it happens, so you don’t need to arrange an interpreter for each language. Worshippers scan your mosque’s QR code and follow on their own phones.
Qur’an references and Islamic terminology need particular care. Baian uses context and stored Qur’an translations where available, with the original references kept alongside the translation.
How Baian handles Qur’an and contextHow to set up your mosque
The mosque runs one session while each worshipper chooses how to follow.

Common questions
Khutbah translation questions
Do I need the Baian app?
If your mosque runs Baian, scan its QR code and follow in your phone browser. You do not need an account or app. For personal listening when no mosque session is running, use the Baian mobile app. Audio listeners use their own headphones.
What equipment does our mosque need?
A computer running Baian, clear microphone or mixer audio, reliable internet and a visible QR code. Connect a compatible mixer by USB, or use a USB audio interface (sound card). Run a soundcheck before the khutbah.
Which languages have translated text or audio?
Live translated text is available in Albanian, Arabic, Azerbaijani, Bengali, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Hausa, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Macedonian, Malay, Malayalam, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Sorani Kurdish, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, Tajik, Tamil, Turkish, Urdu and Uzbek. Malayalam and Sorani Kurdish are output-only. Sorani is text-only; audio is not available for every language. Availability and simultaneous-language limits depend on your account and plan. Check your language settings before the event.
What should the mosque use for a recorded khutbah?
Use Caption Tool after recording the khutbah. It creates translated SRT subtitle files for publishing, separately from the live translation used during the sermon.
