Planning your event

What should you plan for?

Russian in international and regional proceedings

The UN lists it among its six official languages. For the OSCE, the working languages are “English, French, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish.” Russia names it as the state language throughout the country.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation names Russian and Chinese as its official and working languages. The Commonwealth of Independent States names Russian as its working language. Ask delegates from these institutions which translation they want to follow.

Русский offers Слушать and Читать

Selecting Русский brings the attendee to “Как вы хотите участвовать?”. Слушать means listen and Читать means read. The choice screen and the rest of the listener interface are in Russian, so guests can navigate in their own language whether they listen or read.
