Planning your event

What should you plan for?

Spanish in multilateral and shareholder programmes

It is an official UN language and has been an EU official language since 1986. Spain’s constitution names Castilian as the state’s official language. Mercosur’s official working languages are Spanish and Portuguese.

The OAS names Spanish, French, English and Portuguese as official languages for its General Assembly’s work. Anglo American’s 2025 shareholder page lists a Spanish and Portuguese simultaneous-translation Q&A facility. Record the audience’s chosen translation and the languages people will speak separately.

Español keeps the choice screen in Spanish

The Spanish listener page asks “¿Cómo prefieres seguir la sesión?”. An attendee who selected Español chooses Escuchar for translated audio or Leer for the written translation. Subsequent screens use the selected language, so guests can follow either mode without having to use menus in English.
