Planning your event

What should you plan for?

Hausa’s conditional parliamentary use

Nigeria’s constitution permits Hausa in National Assembly business when adequate arrangements have been made.

The African Union’s ACALAN page reports an online Hausa spell checker. An AU commissioner’s 2023 statement includes Hausa among regional languages in ACALAN’s promotion programme. For a regional event, ask attendees directly whether they want this written audience channel.

Hausa opens text without a listening choice

The language button marked Hausa takes attendees directly to live text. They read the translation because it is text only for this language. The rest of the interface is in English, so joining instructions should explain that navigation alongside the written format.

Hausa speech and Hausa audience text differ

A presenter can speak this language and be translated into other supported audience languages. Attendees choosing Hausa receive text. If a guest expects spoken interpretation, confirm whether reading suits them before choosing the channel.
