Planning your event

What should you plan for?

Tamil across three constitutional language settings

Singapore names Tamil among four official languages. Sri Lanka designates Tamil as an official language and separately names Sinhala and Tamil as national languages. The Government of India lists Tamil in the Constitution’s Eighth Schedule.

Use the language role that fits the delegation’s country when describing the audience. Ask each invitee whether they want Tamil translation when bringing these groups together.

தமிழ் opens a Tamil listen-or-read question

Selecting தமிழ் brings up “கேட்க விரும்புகிறீர்களா அல்லது படிக்க விரும்புகிறீர்களா?”. The controls are கேளுங்கள் to listen and படியுங்கள் to read, with phone screens in that language. Guests choosing audio hear the translation through their headphones.

Tamil audio since 15 September 2026

The audio addition on 15 September 2026 gives attendees a listening option alongside text. The language can also be spoken by the presenter and translated into other supported languages, so include the stage-language requirement separately.
