GEM Summit · Doha

Eight translation languages at GEM Summit.

At GEM Summit, attendees followed Baian’s translation on their phones and on the venue’s large screen. They could scan a QR code, choose their language and follow without collecting a headset.

Arabic speech, eight translation languages.

The two main translation sessions in the GEM Summit account produced English, French, Spanish, Turkish, Bengali, Japanese, Urdu and Italian translations from Arabic speech.

At the busiest recorded moment, 180 listener connections were open at once. This measures connected browsers, not unique people. People watching the shared screen are not counted individually.

How we count these figures

Source: Baian’s session records for the GEM Summit account on 29 January 2026. While a session is live, the organiser’s page checks active listener connections about every five seconds and saves the highest count. Host and agent connections are excluded.

A connection is not a unique attendee: one person can join on more than one browser or device, and a short visit between checks may not be counted. These figures do not measure QR scans, total attendance, translation accuracy or preference over human interpreters.

The next session peaked at 76 connections. We do not add session peaks together: the same people may have joined both. The saved records do not provide a reliable unique-listener total.

Scan. Choose. Follow.

Attendees could follow Dr Nayef Bin Nahar live in their chosen language. They scanned a QR code, chose a language, and read captions or listened on their phones.

Translation on the phone already in your pocket.

Baian’s phone-based setup did not require a dedicated receiver. The listener page brought the captions and available audio to attendees’ own phones, with language choices in the same place.

Planning an event with several languages?

Start with clear audio from your microphone or mixer and a reliable internet connection. Share one listener link or QR code. People choose from the available text and audio languages in their browser.

Tell us the languages, venue, audience size and simultaneous rooms. Ask for a live walkthrough, join on your own phone, and see the experience your attendees would use.
